2017 RMLL FINAL FOUR PREVIEW

For the third straight season, the Manitoba Blizzard have a berth in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League Final Four tournament and look to capture their second consecutive title. The tournament begins Friday night in Edmonton at Bill Hunter Arena. Here’s a look at each club.

MANITOBA BLIZZARD- EAST REPRESENTATIVE
2017 RECORD
: 18-2, 1st in North Division
HOW THEY GOT HERE: Defeated Saskatchewan 3 games to none in East Regional Playoff.

EDMONTON WARRIORS- HOST

2017 RECORD: 5-14-1, 5th in North Division
HOW THEY GOT HERE: Qualified as host team.
HEAD-TO-HEAD: Blizzard won their lone season meeting 14-9 on May 13th in Edmonton.

RED DEER RAMPAGE- NORTH REPRESENTATIVE

 

2017 RECORD: 17-3, 2nd in North Division
HOW THEY GOT HERE: Defeated Edmonton Warriors 13-9 and Sherwood Park Titans 13-5
HEAD-TO-HEAD: Split their two regular season meetings. Red Deer won 11-9 on May 13th, but the Blizzard rebounded for a 9-5 win in Red Deer on May 14th.

CALGARY CHILL– SOUTH REPRESENTATIVE

2017 RECORD: 16-4, 1st in South Division
HOW THEY GOT HERE: Defeated Calgary Mountaineers 2 games to none in best-of-3 South Regional Playoff.
HEAD-TO-HEAD: Manitoba won their only regular season clash 10-8 on June 13th in Calgary. Met twice in 2016 Final Four, losing on July 30th 9-6 before getting the biggest win in team history on August 1st by an 8-6 count in the championship game.
